I had the privilege of collaborating with the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) on a meaningful e-learning project designed to educate global audiences about the dangers of explosive ordnance. The project featured four key scenarios aimed at raising awareness and promoting safety in regions affected by explosive hazards. Working closely with the team, I helped develop a cohesive animation style and managed the entire creative process, including storyboards, animatics, illustrations, and final animations. This experience was deeply rewarding, as it allowed me to contribute to a cause with real-world impact. I’m incredibly grateful to have played a role in supporting such an important humanitarian initiative.

The first step in this project was developing a batch of concepts to convey my vision to the client. I aimed for an art direction that not only suited the subject matter but also made the content engaging and easy to digest. Additionally, I ensured the chosen style was achievable within the project's timeline and constraints.

Storyboards are crucial in animation, shaping movement and scene composition while giving clients an early preview. Refining the story at this stage allows for quick adjustments. For this project, the client also requested animatics - rough animations using storyboard assets, often set to voiceover or music to establish pacing and feel.

With the animatic approved, it was time to bring the project to life! The final animations exceeded my expectations, thanks in large part to the trust GICHD placed in me throughout the process.
